More Than Machines: Celebrating Our People at Red Stick Armature Works (for 65 Years!)

This year marks a momentous occasion for Red Stick Armature Works (RSAW) – our 65th anniversary! As we reflect on the years since our 60th, we're filled with gratitude for the many accomplishments and the incredible team behind them.

Adapting and Thriving in a Changing World

The past few years have presented unique challenges, and RSAW has met them head-on. In response to COVID-19, we implemented a 2-split shift system (day and night) with a 4-day on, 4-day off schedule. This ensured continuous, 24/7 production while prioritizing employee safety. This adaptation not only maintained our productivity but also reinforced our commitment to the well-being of our team.

Growth and Innovation

We've seen remarkable growth, restructuring our sales team and achieving over a 30% increase in revenue. Our dedication to employee well-being and community engagement has never been stronger. Since 2020, we've implemented wellness initiatives, hosted customer events (including the ever-growing Customer Christmas event), and participated in community activities like Trunk-or-Treat and Paint the Town Pink. Moreover, our partnerships with local schools for career days demonstrate our commitment to fostering the next generation of talent.

Investing in the Future

Looking ahead, we're excited about the completion of our dedicated field services building this year. This, alongside the 2020 addition of the Groom Road storage facility, showcases our dedication to continuous improvement and optimized operations. These investments ensure that RSAW remains at the forefront of our industry, delivering top-notch services and solutions to our clients.

Remembering Those Who Shaped Us

While celebrating our successes, we also remember those who have left a mark on RSAW. In February 2021, we lost a valued member of our team, Joseph "Stu" Goode, also known as Mr. Pid. Stu was more than a colleague; he was a customer, consultant, technical expert, trainer, mentor, and friend. His passion for excellence continues to inspire us. We honored Stu by creating the "Mr. Pid" poster, showcasing his unique sayings that became part of the RSAW fabric.

In the same week, we celebrated the well-deserved retirement of Randall "Budda" Johnson after 36 years of service. Budda's legacy lives on not only through his award-winning chili recipe, a permanent fixture in our breakroom, but also through his continued presence at our crawfish boils, including his recent visit this April. We're happy to report that Budda isn't a stranger – he frequently joins us as a judge at our quarterly employee cook-offs.

Celebrating Individual Achievements

This anniversary isn't just about RSAW as a whole; it's about the people who make it great. We're proud to recognize several employees who achieved significant milestones this year. Here's a special shout-out to:

  • Vernell Davis (12 Years)
  • Jeremy Flotte (20 Years)
  • Mike Furlow (23 Years)
  • Lynn Garrett (14 Years)
  • Clay Harris (10 Years)

Thank you for being part of our journey.
